Humane Education and Community Outreach

Education and Outreach volunteers are outgoing and eager to spread the mission of GBHS to the community. These volunteers are the face of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society at schools in our area, giving presentations that engage students while educating them on animal care and compassion.
GBHS works to bring the message of humane treatment to kids of all ages, across the Greater Birmingham Area. Through in classroom presentations, our volunteers talk to students about how to properly care for a pet, what it means to be a responsible pet owner, the importance of spay/neuter, and more.
Duties Include:
- Leading educational presentations in schools and at youth events
- Answering questions regarding GBHS, our policies, and programs, as well as questions regarding animal care and welfare
- Engaging with students to ensure a fun, interactive, and educational experience
- Helping Outreach Director keep track of measurables
- Background check required
- 18 years of age and older
- Outgoing personality
- Comfortable working with kids of all ages
- Effective, clear communication required
